Latest announcements from the Australian government on 29 March 2020 have allowed for Telehealth services to be provided to all patients who are currently receiving therapy under a Mental Health Care Plan.
In the interests of safety for you, us and all in our community – Relieve Psychology is looking to move to Telehealth appointments for all clients where it is their preferred option or if vulnerable to Covid-19. These Telehealth services will currently be conducted via phone counselling, FaceTime or Zoom.
We are still conducting face to face appointments and are undertaking all recommended safety measures for you, us and the community at large.
We are encouraging our clients to continue therapy via Telehealth particularly if currently in isolation so we can provide ongoing support and care in such uncertain and stressful times.
The following options are currently available:
Telephone Counselling
What you will need: A landline phone or mobile phone
How it works: Your psychologist will call you on your nominated phone number at the time of appointment. If you are a Mental Health Care Plan holder - you will be required to provide consent for bulk-billing which may be verbal or via email.
FaceTime Counselling
What you will need: A smart mobile phone
How it works: Your psychologist will call you on your nominated phone number at the time of appointment. If you are a Mental Health Care Plan holder - you will be required to provide consent for bulk-billing which may be verbal or via email.
Video Counselling
What you will need: A laptop or desktop computer or iPad with WiFi connectivity. A current email address.
How it works: Your psychologist will call you on your phone to determine your correct email address and then send you a link via email. At the appointment time please open the email and click on the link. This will open your zoom session. Your psychologist will stay on the phone until the link has been established and will then continue the Zoom appointment.
How do I pay for Telehealth sessions?
Private Health Insurance Holders: Please check with your fund to establish that Telehealth services are covered under your individual policy. Most Australian insurers have agreed to allow claims for Telehealth services. You will be asked to pay for your session in full prior to commencing and an SMS will be sent containing Relieve Psychology BSB and Account details to make an EFT payment via your banking app. Your receipt will be emailed to you for claiming purposes once payment has been received. Please clearly state your full name when making payment.
Mental Health Care Plan Holders: If you are currently being treated under MHCP – your session will be bulk-billed with your permission. This will be organised by your psychologist and gap payments at this time will not apply.
